Palm Springs
With a three day break, before moving the Kitchen In Season kitchen to a new loft space, we took a quick jaunt down to the desert hideout that is Palm Springs. Seven hours on the road and two dog parks later, we arrived just in time for a Sunday afternoon pool party at the Ace hotel. With only a day and a half at our disposal, we managed to visit several properties, hit a few happy hours, and of course, rest poolside surrounded by shining examples of mid-century modern design.

IT IS EASY TO BE LEFT OUT OF A CONVERSATION ABOUT EXCLUSION
LO:FI for the HI:FI… What started out as a (late night) bedroom project, THE WESTERN ADDITION saw the light of day as a solo performance of an 11 minute piece in a packed art gallery with the patrons spilling out onto the street. Today, with the re-release of IT IS EASY TO BE LEFT OUT OF A CONVERSATION ABOUT EXCLUSION, what was once only available at gallery shows and passed between friends, is now available everywhere. The Western Addition continues on in various formations to explore, in its folk-jazz leanings, the connections between visual art and music.
