For Quirk's inaugural exhibition, we wanted to use this opportunity to introduce ourselves to our new neighbors and community in Charlottesville. Hello There will help us explain who we are and offer a taste of what's to come. More than forty artists—-painters and printmakers, illustrators, sculptors, and others working with clay, paper, resins, and fiber---have contributed a unique piece, representative of their current practice and specifically for Quirk, in celebration of our exciting new space and beautiful new home. Each of the artists selected have played a major part in Quirk's development since the gallery first opened its doors on Broad Street in downtown Richmond in 2005.

These exhibiting artists are like family to us and Quirk would not be what it is today without the contributions of these special people, among others. Family is what defines and shapes us. They watch us grow, fail, succeed. They teach us lessons. They lift us up, make us stronger, make us believe in ourselves. They see us develop, try new things, re-invent ourselves. They are always in our corner, cheering us on, no matter what. There comes a point in any new relationship, after things get serious, when the time feels right to introduce your family.
